The quintessential referee body has inducted six officers that will stir the ship of the society at its annual triennial delegate conference in Lagos
A new executive body has been inducted to run the affairs of the Lagos Mainland Society. This event took place at the 2014 triennial delegated conference held on Friday evening at the Lagos National Stadium. Before the swearing-in ceremony, challenges rocking Nigeria referees were tabled before the crème de la crème present at the event as solutions were proffered with the aim of improving the lots of Nigerian referees as well as seeing more get recognition by the world football governing body at international football competitions.
Oigiangbe Henry, an astute referee administrator returned as the chairman of the body while Adeyemo Taiwo came on board as the vice chairman. Adeyemo Kehinde, a Nigeria Professional Football League will serve as the secretary with Okafor Ruth, a top-rated female football arbiter the assistant secretary. Bada Adedayo and Udenze Henry will work as the financial secretary and the training officer respectively for the next three year.
In a chat with darlinwizblog, the chairman said his agenda is to groom referees with proven integrity  that will not only represent the country at top level but will also serve as role models to the younger generation.
"We will do our best to propagate the ideals and good referee practice and ensure members are technically updated with a blend of discipline.
"As it stands, we have members who are near the Fifa badge mark, and we won’t rest on our oars as we will ensure they get more international expose and make the country proud,” Oigiangbe told Goal.
This society will be recalled nurtured the current deputy vice chairman of the Nigeria Referee Association, Tade Azeez as well as prominent Fifa badge referee Gabriel Adigwe.
